we cry out in our bereavement

we mourn the loss of the loved one

in this we see your sting

we don't understand

sometimes there is no rhyme or reason

its not fair, its frustrating, its maddening

but through this pain we have a hope

a hope in the one we place our lives

it is the hope of victory

in this, where is your sting?

because of one death, nay, the death

we have life and a hope and a promise

because of this we will see them again

in this, where is your sting?

this hope does not negate the pain

this hope does not solve the frustration

this hope does not make it any easier

but this hope negates the sting

we can be sad and feel pain

and yet we have hope

we can be angry and frustrated

and yet we have hope

we can have doubts and questions

and yet we have hope

Love has vanquished death

we do not need to fear

Love has brought life and hope
