she cries out in bilious frustration
her hard heart causes her pain
the poison slowly killing the light within
the hand maintained its vice grip
in her sorrow and isolation a whisper
words indiscernible she strains to hear
again the soft wisps of sound tickle her ears
but the claw digs and she quails
the whisper now becomes a voice
in her heart the Word speaks
I love you I love you I love you
she is apprehensive but curious
she feels the stone cracking life returning
the claw clamps tighter afraid of losing its hostage
Be not afraid Be not afraid Be not afraid
she is listening but not yet believing
the voice takes human form and it approaches
she sees Him and hides her face
My child I love you Be not afraid
a slow turn and the poison stops
streams of shame cast their trail upon her cheek
He holds her face in His hands and wipes away her shame
Most precious jewel though fallen you are, arise again
He invites her to stand and the claw retracts
she can feel life returning to her crushed heart
she gazes in the face of her rescuer and sees love
Arise and be who I see you too be who I have made you too be
the monstrosity that hand falls away
rivers of joy forge new paths upon her smile creased cheek
the light is restored and shines of love and grace
My daughter my beautiful one you are free come and be restored
joy abounding she dances
